Practice and study schedule: We meet on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons. There is also a day-long session on the first Saturday of each month. See the current schedule for dates and details.

About our programs: All are welcome at most PBMG programs. If you have not previously meditated in a Tibetan Buddhist setting, please try to join us for one of our brief sessions of meditation instruction, held the second Sunday morning of each month. Again, see the current schedule for dates and details. While there is no need to register, feel free to email us with questions. Please note that initial meditation instruction will no longer be offered immediately before each sitting or class.

Many classes and all sitting sessions are offered at no charge, though occasionally those taking a class will need to purchase a sourcebook or other materials.

Meditation sessions
Meditation instruction

Meditation sessions are offered at least twice a week:

  • Thursday evenings, before class, at 7:30 (see our current schedule); and
  • Sunday afternoons from 12:30 to 2:00.
  • In addition, on the first Saturday of each month, we offer a practice day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These practice days will include sitting and walking meditation and some body mindfulness exercises from 9:00 to noon, followed by a silent lunch and a screening and discussion of a DVD Dharma teaching by Anam Thubten Rinpoche Anyone may join us for part or all of the day.

Learning to meditate: As noted above, initial meditation instruction will usually be offered at 11:15 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month, before our 12:30 session. Anyone interested may attend, and all are invited—though never required!—to stay for the afternoon session. Though no registration is needed, questions via email are very welcome.

Classes: At any given time, we are usually conducting a class or discussion group on a Buddhist topic, or studying a book on Buddhist teachings. For specifics on current programs, see our current schedule. If you have an interest in a class that's currently in session, or would like to know more about an upcoming class, please contact us.

Note: If you are having difficulty accessing our current schedule, you may need to download Acrobat Reader, a free software program used with this type of file.
